  • GUTENBERG! The Musical!

    GUTENBERG! The Musical! The Ensemble Theatre Company proudly presents "Gutenberg! The Musical!" By Anthony King and Scott Brown. Directed by Zachary Gipson and Dustin Ritchea with Rachael Lauer on piano! This two-man musical production showcases the creative work of the fictional characters Doug Simon and Bud Davenport, who have just finished writing an "original musical" about Johann Gutenberg's invention of the printing press. Doug and Bud are eager to get their musical on Broadway and decide to present it to an audience chalk full of Broadway producers A.K.A. you. By playing over 20 characters, Doug and Bud take the audience on a wild comedic ride they'll never forget. At The Art Barn 695 N 400 East Valparaiso, IN 46383 Performance Dates: August 3rd, 4th, 5th 10, 11th, 12th. Friday and Saturdays at 8:00pm Sundays at 2:00pm. Gutenberg! The Musical! is presented by special arrangement with SAMUEL FRENCH, INC.

    ETC is homeless by design, so we are always on the lookout for venues to partner with. We believe every show should begin with the designing of the right space. ETC has produced in multiple venues across NWI. Visit the theatres who have opened their doors to the creative talents of the Ensemble Theatre Company and see what they are up to today! 4th Street Theatre, Chicago Street Theatre, Star Plaza Theatre, Memorial Opera House, Acorn Theater, and now the Art Barn School of Art.
  • What a Fantastic run of The New Mel Brooks Musical YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN!

    We ran Young Frankenstein for over 13 sold out performances at the Chicago Street Theatre in Valparaiso, IN and then remounted at the Star Plaza Theatre in Merrillville, IN. Over 3,000 people saw this monster of a show and have been raving since its opening and now closing. Young Frankenstein was nominated for a record breaking 17 NIETF Awards and took home 10 of them including Best Musical of the Year 2015.
